The Future Climate of Planet Earth

The most complex issue facing us today is the question of global climate change. The Earth's climate has fluctuated through extreme cold to very warm periods and back again throughout the last 750 million years of its history. Four million years ago the Earth entered into a period of long ice ages broken by short periods of warmth. Current global warming is simply a part of this natural cycle of temperature fluctuation. It is not as many say the direct result of the activities of mankind. The engine that is driving the current warming trend is variations in the Sun's solar cycles. Rather than worry about the warming, the real concern should be what will happen as a result. The answer may be a surprise. In an ironic turn, global warming may actually be the precursor of the arrival of another ice age! If that happens, it will not occur over many years. The ice age will be upon us within two to four years. Our modern civilizations will not survive such a rapid change in global climate.
