Do Not Be Afraid: The Revelation as a Drama

The Revelation is a drama. It is exciting theater, using bold and complicated metaphors to underscore a simple but crucially important message: Those who are faithful to God need not be afraid. God will triumph in the end, and those who remain faithful will share in God's victory. The metaphorical language is to be taken seriously, but not literally. The Revelation does not provide a blue-print of future events, but proclaims both judgment and gospel that may be applied to a variety of times and situations
