American Woman: The Story of the Guess Who

The Guess Who were Canada's first international rock music superstars, leading the Canadian invasion of artists like Neil Young, The Band, Rush, Loverboy, Bryan Adams, and Crash Test Dummies. The achievements of this Winnipeg-based band were dazzling: the first platinum record award in Canada for American Woman, five American top ten gold singles, RPM magazine's top band four years running, the BMI award for over one million airplays of These Eyes. The characteristic "wheatfield soul" of The Guess Who was sown in the community clubs of Winnipeg in the 1960s when teen-aged performers like Neil Young, Randy Bachman, and Burton Cummings were trendsetters.
