The Shepherd's Song

A PSALM OF DAVID - TWENTY THIRD PSALM Ever deepening wells of this beloved Psalm and the world changing prayer have strengthened, encouraged and enlightened me through family calamities, recovery from addictions, lung cancer and its treatment and a host of other valleys of the shadows of darkness, loneliness, despair and even death. A friend remarks that robins have been singing the same song for thousands of years, yet every time he listens he hears a different song. So it is with this great Psalm and this great prayer. Every time I study it or every time I "listen" I hear a different song, a deeper harmony, a finer symphony and again am summoned to relish the day, the life in front of me and to embrace eternity's hope. I have attempted in this work to blend the 23rd Psalm with elements of the Lord's Prayer and other scripture. See what you think. Come, pray and meditate for a while, then let us all walk together by the Great River that flows from the Throne of God.
