Caius is a Tower mage, and Kearika his faithful bodyguard.
Despite the Tower's long-standing control of the throne and propensity for starting wars and crushing those who would stand in their way, they believe they can fix it from the inside.
The Zauberei, on the other hand, have a different goal: the total destruction of the corrupt organization and the return of power to the hands of the people.
But they aren't without their sins.
The completion of their goal at any cost means that many innocents have been caught in their path of destruction, including Caius and his Protector, Kearika.
If the Tower with its many malicious factions and the Zauberei with their bloodthirsty fanaticism weren't a big enough problem for Caius and Kearika, they now face danger on a third front as a forgotten legend returns with her own agenda.
Black and white holds no meaning in a world rife with cutthroats and vagabonds. There is only gray, and grayer.
Who is in the right? Who will come out on top? And will Caius and Kearika be on the right side of it when the dust settles?
