Many Baby Boomers are choosing to retire over the next few years. This author was part of this trend and kept a daily journal of the first year's steps and stages. Her story of the triumphs and struggles of the year includes the pain of separating from work, and the joy of finding new avenues. She and her husband move through the painful re-evaluation of their lives and hopes and then move to the selling of their home, the distribution of most of their belongings, and their travel from the midwest to a new and much smaller home with no mortgage in southwest Florida. The author provides a personal and honest account of their experiences, both good and bad, with a wry sense of humor.
