A more accurate title for this book would be Letters from a disgruntled Radio Officer as Dick Molland, was never happy with any of his several employers. This was usually due to poor conditions on board ships, but, more seriously, to the dangers involved - particularly on his voyages to Antarctica. The author has retained Dick's technical descriptions of radio equipment, etc. for those who are interested, but don't let this put off, as they can be skipped without affecting the story. Review by Pashor on Amazon UK "This is a really good read, funny at times,a typical example of a job not living up to the publicity and the misuse of skills, and tales of places where one should not really go abroad alone."
