When a mysterious rider comes to the Bellounds Ranch, questions and rumors run through town in an attempt to discover where the man came from. There are no ready answers, but the townspeople soon come to find that the man is gentle, kind, and an expert gun slinger. He quickly earns the nickname “Hell Bent” Wade for his skill as a gun fighter, and no one in town can guess the role that he is meant to play in their town, especially not for a particular young woman, who some think has agreed to marry the wrong man.
