The DK is like having a human tour guide. Give detailed info about Everything - history, sights, products from the region, flora/fauna, animals, foods, geological info, etc. For me it's the most detailed an comprehensive travel book for anywhere. I've used DK for all my travel. As an adjunct, my husband uses a guide that tells you "not to miss" and "best places to go". The DK is great once you know what you want to see. Because AK is so big, and difficult to cover the entire state in a 15 day trip, the entire book is not useful. However, it provides comprehensive details about everything I mentioned above, and about the amazing Native Tribes from the region. Read more
