Gr 2-5-These volumes all begin with short introductions and helpful lists of "Main Characters," setting the stage for interesting stories about America's founding fathers. The main texts hit the highlights of the subjects' lives, mostly ignoring negative or controversial aspects. The language is simple, but rather stilted, with invented dialogue a necessary evil of the graphic-novel-style format. The layout is simple and easy to follow. The glossy illustrations are true to the time periods, but are otherwise unremarkable.α(c) Copyright 2011. Library Journals LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Media Source, Inc.
