This story gives students an opportunity to apply all that they have learned to identify rimes within a text. The story begins by asking where a hat is, and then takes the reader through a series of related and connected settings and situations. The hat is on Gus, Gus is in the van, the van is that the pig pen, and so on until the reader gets to the final sentence and is able to celebrate reading the end!
