Gr 8 Up–These books emphasize the teamwork involved in solving crimes and the roles that various professionals play in their investigations. Hile packs a lot of information and technical vocabulary into Cybercrime, which also includes career profiles, statistics, and informative sidebars. Unfortunately, it suffers from a lack of focused narrative. Equally dense but far more compelling, The Columbine School Shootings gives a detailed account of the 1999 tragedy. With solid research and step-by-step descriptions of how officials dealt with the crime both during and after the siege, MacKay delves into the lives of the killers and the stories of the victims. Both books are well documented. Recommended for readers wanting in-depth information on how crimes are solved.
