1929. This volume attempts to give a succinct account of the more important events in the development of psychological thinking. As philosophy and psychology are very little differentiated until the beginning of the nineteenth century, the earlier periods are given a very sketchy treatment, their bearing upon psychology being only of the most general and the personalities involved already familiar from histories of philosophy. Pillsbury traces the course of psychology from Early and Classical Greek Psychology to Hormic Psychology, the Gestalt School and Intuitionism.
