Pastor Mason Malone had moved to Granite Hills, California, to get away from his painful past and start his life over again. His wife, whom he had loved deeply, died a tragic and violent death in Southern California. Now, in this isolated hot desert town, he finds himself unwittingly involved in murder, spiritual warfare, and intrigue. By helping a crusty sheriff, Sergeant Julio Rodriguez, solve the murders, Mason finds his own faith challenged to the limit. He and several of the local residents must find a solution to the increasing number of unusual murders in Granite Hills. The town has become a refuge for demonic activity and deception. With the help of a reluctant superstitious deputy, an old man who claims he hears from God and a beautiful woman, Mason discovers what the words faith and courage really mean.
