Chasing Orion

Haunting dreams and a mournful longing for a deceased spouse have had Daniel Kilbourne wanting of sleep. His solace is his telescope, a tool he uses to search for answers to questions that trouble his once joyous soul. As a heralded amateur astronomer, in addition to being a well-known journalist, Daniel is certain that life exists beyond Earth. What he does not bargain for is witnessing an unidentified object slam into the Moon near Genesis, the pre-cursor to a lunar colony. Chasing Orion takes the reader on a journey from Oregon to the White House, where Daniel is chosen to fly aboard the USS Hercules to the Moon with a Special Operations unit as an embedded journalist. We witness the rebirth of this introspective man as he rediscovers life and love, and when the ill-equipped humans infiltrate the marooned alien spacecraft, Daniel exceeds all expectations for leadership, perseverance and ingenuity.
