Damian Wayne fan here. Big believer of voting with my wallet, and anything official with Damian's intended profile (especially in tribute/officially from the creators, Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert) I feel obligated to support it financially. I'm also more into the mature adult/testosterone fuelled side of intellectual properties and this does provide it. The character has proven more than ever as THE candidate for the Bat Mantle with the most complex, yet most interesting, lore out of the entire Bat family in my most honest opinion. I just love his aspirational and empathetic approach of "anger is more useful than despair" attitude in getting things done. The "Scarface/Vegeta/Kratos/Guts (from Berserk)" of the Batwards, I believe. (*Edit: I can't believe I didn't include Patrick Bateman from American Psycho in that analogy, too (especially when Damian starts killing, knowing that it's a conflicting attribute of his personal profile when faced in taking on the Mantle: the very reason why he was created in the first place, to replace the very man the al Ghuls wanted for themselves –there's definitely plenty of metaphorical fodder in these kinds of complex characters and their parallels upon analyzing their common traits. They provide a fascinating study for readers and I can't enjoy that enough)). Nevertheless, with the Grant Morrison issues also included in the Deluxe Edition, Damian matures and becomes the stoic, grounded, observant and realist Batman we all know and love/entertain the idea of (e.g. The "Raven(Teen Titans)/Near(from Death Note)/Levi Ackerman" (from Attack on Titan), I'd like to compare to from other intellectual properties). Damian's wavering ethics has been a cemented staple to the character's profile. His frustration of getting little release regarding how he endures/copes with his suffering regarding his high-expectations existence from two factions is truly represented in this graphic novel. It is that kind of plot fodder that makes a reade...
