Flora of the Maltese Islands Volume 1 is the first book of a series of four volumes regarding the wild plants of the archipelago of the small Maltese Islands in the central Mediterranean region. This first volume contains information on the islands' geology, climate and soil, and also about the origins of the flora. There is also information on the habitats and on the endemic and sub-endemic plants, and general information about plants including how plants survive the dry season, how they disperse their seeds, pollination, fire and plants, photosynthesis and the water cycle. Flora of the Maltese Islands Volume 1 can be regarded both as an informative book on plants and a guide to the wild plants of the Maltese Islands.
