Each fall and winter the Tucson area fills up with 'Snowbirds', those people of the northern states that have had it with the snow and ice and are seeking some warmth and adventure. Many come in their RV's (Recreational Vehicles) , some on motorcycles, some by train or plane, and many by bus or car. Tucson (Pima County) and Benson (Cochise County) are the prime vacation areas in southern Arizona. The weather is mild, the roads reasonable, and the welcome mats are out in force. . You can come and 'hunt and peck' for things to do, or you can order Touring Guides from Tucson, Benson, Bisbee, Douglas, Sierra Vista, Tombstone, and Tubac, or you can order this Amazon Kindle e-book that includes the majority of attractions in both Pima and Cochise Counties.. Ordering this e-book will provide you the name, address, GPS coordinate, and estimated time to allocate in each location. It shows you a photo of the attraction and provides you with pertinent data for making a decision to put the location on your 'to-visit list'. Each title (place name) can be further researched by entering it into a Google tm search box; and this is recommended as open and closing dates and times can vary greatly for many establishments. Note that many are NOT open during the June, July, August 100+ degree Monsoon months.. You can go to several auto clubs to have them outline a 'vacation' for you, but you should know that they frequently OMIT interesting sights, or only provide information on sites that have paid to be displayed, or sites where they get a 'finder's fee'. They also do not provide tips and warnings about the roads and other hazards. This author does not do any of that; his only compensation is from the commission schedule. He provides tips and warns of hazards that he as personally encountered in his visits to the locations.
