A Field Guide to the Rodents and Dasyurids of the Northern Territory

The Northern Territory has 61 species of rodents (rats and mice) and dasyurids (carnivorous marsupials) , "most of which are poorly known and many of which provides substantial problems of identification." To help overcome these problems of identification. A Field Guide to the Rodents and Dasyurids of the Northern Territory has been written. This field guide has been designed as a companion for both amateur and professional naturalists to help identify small mammals in the field. All known species of rodents and dasyurids occurring in the Northern Territory are covered. Keys to the genera and species direct the reader to a description of each species, its distribution, habitat, conservation status and notes on its biology. Each species description is accompanied by a distribution map and there are 60 full-colour photographs plus line drawings and a glossary to help with the identifications. All species are indexed on both common and scientific names.
