Oldfields

Oldfields is a history of the former home and estate of the Hugh McKennan Landon and Josiah Kirby (J. K.) Lilly Jr. families of Indianapolis, Indiana. The estate is preserved today as a property of the American Country Place era by the Indianapolis Museum of Art and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 2003. The book provides a brief history of the two families, the building of the house and its design, detailed descriptions of the rooms of the house, and a chapter on the landscape and gardens of Oldfields, which were designed by Percival Gallagher, of the Olmsted Brothers landscape architecture firm. Oldfields contains more than 100 photographs, including historical photographs of the estate, the house and the Landon and Lilly families, as well as new photography of the house and gardens as they appear today.
