The Architect's Dream : Houses for the Next Millennium

Catalogue documenting the presentation of eleven architects' concepts for future housing. Responding to a series of questions posed by guest curator Daniel Friedman, ten architects or architectural firms created drawings, statements and models. A national jury added an eleventh entry. Some of the houses presented were actual, livable dwellings, while most of the models were theoretical; including a series of cigar boxes halved by glass panes by New York architects Karen Bausman and Alison Berger, a "foldable" home by Romm & Pearsall of Atlanta, a water mill castle by Marco Frascari and Claudio Sgarbi of Italy and Philadelphia, a "super information highway" house by Hariri & Hariri of New York, and a deconstructed home by Eric Owen Moss of southern California. Other architects include Leslie Gill and Adi Shamir Zion of New York and San Francisco, Merill Elam of Atlanta, Kevin Kennon and Peter Moore of New York, Pam Kinzie and Les Taylor of San Francisco, Koning & Eizenberg of Santa Monica, John C.
