The author of several science fiction novels and other cartoon collections, Gilliland is the winner of three Fannish Achievement Awards for best humorous fan artist. He has also won three Hugo Awards for best fan artist. Gilliland is known for his sly wit and tongue-in-cheek commentary on the human condition. A very enjoyable collection.
