Complete Series Six Study Book

This self-study text is intended to prepare you for the NASD Series 6 Registration Exam. Assuming conscientious study, it is all that you should need to prepare yourself for the exam. The self-study approach used in this book may differ from the training you have had in the past. It has been designed specifically to allow you to learn at your own pace - to learn the material you need to learn and to ensure mastery learning. You will participate in the instruction by reading, studying, writing answers in the book, and by following these steps: 1.Take the chapter pretest to identify the material in each chapter you need to learn so that you won't spend time studying material you already know. 2.Read the tutorial information presented on the concepts with which you are unfamiliar. 3.Answer the quick quiz questions to check your understanding of newly acquired concepts. Be sure to write the answer to each question before checking your answer. 4.Apply your understanding of chapter material by completing the real life situation. 5.Recheck your familiarity with chapter concepts by completing the check your understanding section. 6.Review your final preparation for the exam by completing sample NASD exams at the end of the book. Do not review your answers in the rationale before completing the exam. This may sound like a larger commitment than you had in mind but, remember, it is an individualized, self-study text so you are the one who decides how much effort you will have to put forth to ensure passing the exam. In order to be fully prepared for the exam, we recommend that you plan to spend two to two-and-one-half hours per chapter. This material is concentrated and will require careful study. You must master all the terms and concepts so that you will be assured of passing the examination. To summarize, read the material presented on concepts with which you are unfamiliar, digest it, answer the questions, and turn the page to check your answers. Then proceed to review. Apply the chapter information by completing the "real life situation." Review by taking the "check your understanding" test and/or retaking the pretest. Keep in mind that this program of study is not a test. It is a method designed to teach you what you need to know to pass the NASD Series 6 Registration Exam. As the financial services industry changes the examinations which are used to qualify individuals for registration must change.
