Eliza Bradley was bound to Tenerife on the ship Sally, but the ship sank in a terrible storm. Eliza was then taken hostage by unmerciful Arab barbarians. Mrs Bradley suffered incredible hardship for six months during her captivity along with her husband, "Capt. James Bradley," and other surviving members of the crew. Eliza was eventually freed and reunited with her dear husband.
