Pressed glass is an extremely popular collectible, with new information about it constantly generated through research. Collectors will welcome this new guide, which summarizes much of the research done in recent years. The book surveys commercial glassmaking in the United States from colonial times to the present, with an emphasis on the 1825-1915 period. Most valuable are the sections giving advice on the desirability and value of individual pieces and on recognizing fakes and reproductions. Photographs by the author and others from private collections and museums enhance the text.
