ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John Traupman received his Ph.D. from Princeton University. In addition to Conversational Latin, Traupman's books include: Latin-English Dictionary (Bantam Books, 1966, and Amsco School Publications, 1966; revised and enlarged edition Amsco, 1994 and Bantam ,1996) ; German-English Dictionary (Bantam Books, 1982 and Amsco, 1982) ; Latin is Fun, Book I (Amsco, 1988) ; Latin is Fun, Book II (Amsco, 1994; Scribner-English Dictionary (Scribner, 1977) ; and German Fundamentals (Baron's Educational Series, Inc. 1992) . He was president of the Department of Classics at St. Joseph's a University from 1951-1989 and is past president of the Philadelphia Classical Society, the Pennsylvania Classics Association, the Classical Association of the Atlantic. He has also served on the ACTFL Board of Reviewers for National Standards in Foreign Language. He has also presented numerous papers at a variety of professional conferences in the classical field.
