Medieval Sculpture and Works of Art: The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection

Baron Thyssen-Bornemisza's collection of Medieval sculpture and works of art is wide-ranging in its scope. It includes fine Gothic sculptures on a large and small scale, ivories and enamels from major European centres, and works of art in other media. In this catalogue every object is illustrated in full colour, often with several different views, and there are many illustrations of comparative detail.The author, Paul Williamson, in addition to discussing the pieces themselves in detail, also addresses himself to wider issues of interest to the student of Medieval art.
