The development of Christology in Jewish Christianity during the first century is a central issue in New Testament studies. In this excellent survey of the subject, Richard N. Longenecker examines early Christian convictions regarding the messiahship and lordship of Jesus, taking into account newer evidence from the Dead Sea Scrolls and Nag Hammadi texts, which has shed light on many of motifs and titles used by early Jewish Christians.
