All living things need water to survive. Yet many people waste precious water, or do not take enough care to keep it clean. This book looks at: the water cycle; where water comes from and how it is distributed throughout the world; farming and industry's use of water, considering whether they are doing enough to reduce pollution; water use to produce energy and its effect on the surrounding environment; and, how people survive in areas of the world where water is scarce. It also looks at what you, the reader, can do to help and start to improve YOUR environment today. Throughout, 'Fact Panels' give stark statistics to highlight the problems and 'Try This!' panels give the reader simple activities which they can do to investigate the issues.
