China: A Concise History

This book provides a concise introduction to the history of China over the course of some four millennia. The first part introduces the land and the people, traces briefly the history of China, and outlines the traditional way of life. The main section, parts two through six, relates the ancient traditional eras before 221 B.C. and the history of imperial China with the cycles of several dozen dynasties. The final part charts the path of modern China since 1912.
