Grade 5-8-Following two chapters on the history of Pakistan and why Pakistanis chose to immigrate, Taus-Bolstad then discusses the experiences of immigrants in America, including religious discrimination, culture shock, and events post 9/11. There are separate boxes on subjects such as the five Ks of Sikhism and the Sepoy Rebellion, as well as quotations from Pakistani writers and historical figures. Two of the five nonfiction books mentioned as further reading were also published by Lerner. The list of Web sites is more problematic. This series is advertised as being web enhanced with a special collection of links at the publisher's Web site. Many of these links are to well-known sites that are likely to remain valid for some time to come, but several are to personal Web pages that may not be maintained.
