This is a comprehensive look at the world's 150 air forces and their current aircraft. For each nation, there is a description of the "Military Structure" (whether air force, army, or navy) and a list of the aircraft owned (with numbers obtained for each). Numerous photographs, many in color, are used to good effect. Also included is a 27-page table of specifications. The data and information is similar to that published periodically in the magazine Interavia Aerospace Review , but this book is easier to handle. This would be a good complement to the Rand McNally Encyclopedia of Military Aircraft 1914-1980 (LJ 3/1/82), which is more historical. The Jane's All the World's Aircraft annuals are more complete and include civilian aircraft, but they are far more expensive.
