Grade 3-5–The information in these books is presented in a concise manner with respect for Native American culture and history. Each title is illustrated with artist renderings and/or color photographs. Southeast introduces the tribes' culture, language, history, and customs but does not include the impact of European settlement. Several traditional recipes are interspersed within each chapter. Wisdom discusses the contributions that Native Americans have made for which they may not have received credit. They include various foods eaten by many Americans today, the use of scented fishing lures, lacrosse, the parka, and jojoba as an ingredient in shampoo.
