Geometric Modeling and Processing: Theory and Applications 10-12 July 2002 Wako, Saitama, Japan

Papers from a July 2002 conference on the theory and applications of solid modeling, shape representation, and geometric computation address major areas of geometric modeling and processing such as curve and surface modeling, triangular mesh modeling, and subdivision surfaces. They also describe applications of geometric modeling such as computer aided design and reverse engineering. Specific topics include the algebra and geometry of curve and surface inversion, classifying the nonsingular intersection curve of two quadric surfaces, acoustics scattering on arbitrary manifold surface, and fair triangle mesh generation with discrete elastica. Other topics are polyhedra operators for mesh refinement, numerical methods for beautification of reverse engineered geometric models, and persistent naming through persistent entities.
