Grade 6-9–This biography of the noted Austrian psychoanalyst is a disappointment. It's not well written, and the only map is an old reproduction that is difficult to decipher. Although there are many photographs, not all are correctly labeled. Numerous names are misspelled, and there are major omissions. Finally, Bankston's footnoting is sloppy, with dozens of incorrect and incomplete citations. Fortunately, Catherine Reef's Sigmund Freud (Clarion, 2001) is still in print. It is well researched, superbly written, clear, and interesting.–Ann W. Moore, Schenectady County Public Library, NY Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc.
