Kindergarten-Grade 3-- Using color photographs and sketches, Fradin examines the political situation in America at the time of the troubles between England and her colonies and describes how the Declaration of Independence was written and accepted. The book is divided into chronological sections; each section contains photographic illustrations and simple discussion in bold faced print. The facts are presented in broad matter-of-fact language which provides an overview at the expense of more interesting, but perhaps more difficult, detail.
