Ben Badwin needs a woman, and he needs her now, so when Sierra Murphy drives up in a battered truck to eat at his motel restaurant, exhausted from launching her landscaping business, he sets his sights on her. Her blunt rejection of his usually infallible charm makes the chase more fun, but Ben doesn't expect to fall in love, nor to have Sierra's best friend make a play for his mother, nor to encounter a determined grandmother and an abusive ex-husband in the tumble of misunderstandings, jealousy, and sex that follows. How all this falls into place makes for an interesting mix of ecstatic (and lovingly described) sex, and reluctant women overcoming past hurts with persistent men determined to help (and bed) them. The reader ends up liking Ben, even though his single-mindedness and perpetual hard-on can be tedious.
