We own this entire series in audio CD and love listening to them as we drive to town. My son's school is studying Asia so we wanted to share this episode with the kids at school, so we donated this one. In this story the children travel thru time to ancient Japan where they meet Basho, the famous Haiku poet. He introduces the children to the wealth of nature's beauty thru his gentle observations and insightful poetry. Instead of living in a rich palace as his fame would indicate, he lives in a small old cottage by a pond. His friends are the plants and wildlife in his yard. My son and I have listened to this one many times and he was enchanted by the simple poems. This is one of my favorite MTH books. Read more
