Me and My Shadow - Learning to Live with Multiple Sclerosis

Carol Mackie is twenty three years old, working in her dream job and living with a loving partner when her world is turned upside down. After two terrifying weeks in hospital and extensive tests, she is diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Carol shares her heartening story as she discovers the extent to which multiple sclerosis will affect her functioning and consequently her lifestyle. The vastly different responses of her boyfriend, family and friends illustrate the societal obstacles people diagnosed with multiple sclerosis must overcome, in addition to more apparent physical difficulties. Carole's story is an uplifting one. Not without heartache and disappointment, she manages to forge a new lifestyle - raising funds for the MS Society, giving interviews and lecturing to groups on multiple sclerosis.
