Shifting Sands

From Library Journal Susanne Landseer and her mother, Vita, win a cruise for two down the Nile. They decide to take the trip and wear the lovely secondhand couture outfits that Vita sells in her business, which makes everyone on the journey believe them wealthy even though nothing could be further from the truth. Both find fitting in with a group of bargain-basement tourists difficult at best, but Susanne soon finds diversions to occupy her mind. She is quickly swept off her feet by Omar, the dashing son of a mysterious Egyptian general, whom she meets while in Aswan. With a plot reminiscent of Valentino's silent film The Sheik, long horseback rides through glorious desert, and tasteful love scenes at sunset, who could possibly resist this latest offering from prolific British novelist Worboys? Very romantic and very English, this is the stuff of every woman's marvelous, idle daydreams.
