Your Boat Belowdecks

From Library Journal The authors of this useful volume have come up with an interesting angle--to limit their technical advice only to a boat's area belowdecks. They start off with such practical topics as tools and fasteners, making many pertinent suggestions. They also cover a range of vital topics, from engines (both diesel and gasoline) to stoves and marine toilets. While they deal with more ambitious projects such as winterizing a typical engine, they are wise enough to indicate when the owner should seek professional help. This reviewer has coddled cruising sailboats for over 25 years, and found this book both interesting and informative. The style, not deadly serious, also keeps the reader's interest. Presuming that the illustrations will add to its effectiveness, this volume deserves serious consideration by libraries with boating readers.
