Ukrainian Soul: The Story of the Family Volkoff from Borzna

Ukrainian Soul saves the lives of two American pioneers from Ukraine. Through their own accounts, as well as those of others, we follow their lives from "the old country" to America. As David DuVal writes, "We can listen to the stories from that time and assume that Pesach and Motley could relate to them, nod their heads, and say, 'Yes, our experience was a little different, but that's the way it was.'" Ukrainian Soul also includes, in autobiographical form, the life of one of their children as the lives of their entire family unfold in La Crosse, Wisconsin where they eventually moved.
