Innocent on the Hill: One of a Series Featuring Homicide Detective Terrell Newman

An investigative reporter on one of the daily newspapers is brutally killed after making many enemies with his investigations into drug racketeering, organized crime, religious cults, corruption in high places and the general underbelly of San Antonio society. At first the brutality of his murder suggests it is either the work of a cold psychopath or of drug traffickers he has exposed in his newspaper, but evidence gradually begins to emerge that culpability probably lies elsewhere. Terrell Newman is led through a maze of evidence that brings him into contact with a shady businessman who deals in pornography, a media baron, a judge who is hiding a secret, and a variety of other suspicious characters.
