This text is an edited, simplified version of Sherwood's Human Physiology: From Cells to Systems, Second Edition, for the one-term, non-majors' introduction to human physiology. It doesn't require previous exposure to biology, chemistry, or mathematics. Basic human physiology is organized around the central theme of homeostasis.
