Wow. Just plain WOW. (No Spoilers)

CITY OF LIGHT is one of those books where you get to the end and wonder why reality hasn't changed while you were reading. Yeah, it is THAT good, and I am not the biggest fan of post-apoptotic stories. Keri Arthur's skill and talent are on full display in this book. I have always enjoyed her writing style, but this book showcases her evolving grasp of storytelling and book writing. She spins a world fleshed out with nuances and believable rules that do not go fuzzy at the edges or reveal holes when you poke at the logic. Her characters have depth and breath (word intended), rich with backstories and history that makes them complete in the "moment" of the story. Passion is believable as is pain, determination, morals and principals. No omniscient gods here, but characters you would swear could live and breathe off the page. A fantastic beginning to a series. I will admit I am frustrated I have to wait until November for the next story! Thank you, Ms. Arthur, for putting in the work and sweat to create this book. I can not wait for the next one! BTW -- I purchased this book on my own and am not a paid spokesman. ;) Read more
