On November 18-20, 2004, the Transportation Research Board convened a Conference on Research on Women's Issues in Transportation, held in Chicago, Illinois. Approximately 120 individuals from across the transporation research community-at national, state, regional, and local levels and from the public sector, private sector, and academia-participated, with an unusually large number of international participants attending. The conference had two primary objectives. First, to identify and explore additional research and data needed to inform transportation policy decisions that address women's mobility, safety, and security needs. Second, to encourage new research by young researchers. This report contains technical papers from the conference.
