This supplement contains material for instructor and student use in an active learning environment. It is designed to facilitate a concept approach with a user emphasis and the development of interpersonal and learning-to-learn skills. The Introduction is aimed at motivating the student to participate by developing an understanding of the need for and the values of active learning. Functional aspects of learning teams are explained, and forms for team use are provided. The material is divided into three sections: class activities, team presentation assignments, and writing assignments. The supplement provides suggestions for approaching relatively new additions to traditional texts such as business decision, critical thinking, and ethical dilemma problems. To facilitate preparation/procedural issues, accounting forms are provided for reproduction. All the materials described above can be used with any traditional text. Working papers for selected programs from Fundamental Accounting Principles are also provided.
