Slices of Life: Writing from North America

This text exposes readers to many different points of view that make up North American cultures. It includes essays and stories. An aim of the book is to stimulate class discussion of such themes as discrimination, families and justice. Each reading is introduced with a brief background description. Language exercises which should reinforce words and expressions used in writing are also included.
