Gundog Training is written by a practising professional who has a long list of Field Trial Champions to his credit. His opinions, often openly controversial, are therefore backed by considerable experience, and given for what they are worth, without any attempt to impose them on the reader. There are chapters on breeds, choice of puppy, pre-training, and all phases of training including equipment, obedience training, water work and advanced training, shooting days, field trials, good mouths and bad, and the wildfowler's dog.
