John Lee Comstock
John Lee Comstock was an American surgeon, educator, and author from Connecticut, best known for his widely used 19th-century textbooks and scientific writings. He served as a surgeon in the War of 1812 and later practiced medicine in Hartford, while publishing works on botany, chemistry, mineralogy, natural history, physiology, and other subjects.
